GTII Project

Post by vwdusty_90 » Sun Aug 02, 2015 1:13 pm

Hi All
I've just registered in the hope of finding a good owner for my late fathers 1990 GTII. It is a good original car with 2 owners from new (I can introduce you to the original owner also). My father has had it for the last 15 yrs, and it was his pride and joy. However it needs some tlc and is not currently MOT'd (expired June 2015).
Currently located in Somerset. Price £500 (on promise that it will be restored!)

Hi again

Here are links to some pics (I think you may need to click on image to see full picture):

https://www.btcloud.bt.com/?shareObject ... 3adea112c9
https://www.btcloud.bt.com/?shareObject ... 6ab3ad9c85

And some more detail:
- It is a 1990 (G)
- Mileage is unknown (speedo broken) but my dad only did a couple of k miles a year at most. I would guess well under 100k
- Starts and runs very well
- Mechanically sound. To pass MOT will only need a couple of new brake hoses, one spot of welding (there is a screwdriver sized puncture - not rot - about 6" from rear strut mounting in boot), and (possibly) a new rear wheel bearing.
- Body work is not rusty but there are a few minor dents and could really do with full respray (panels have been patched up by my dad over the years so looks a bit messy)
- Has a split dash
- Comes with various bits of spare trim (i think these are the missing door and roof trims) and replacement rear quarter windows, and various other bits and pieces I found when clearing out his garage.

Anything else you want to know please ask.

Thanks a lot! I've not advertised anywhere else yet but i'm keen to find a good home for it. Is there anywhere else you suggest I post? I'd rather lay it up in the garage than ebay it. Thanks again
