Managed to grab a couple of hours on Flash last week.

Turns out he's got a leak - typical! Found a hole in the baulkhead which I sealed up with silicone. I've got a suspicion there's another hole somewhere though. I was alerted when walking past one evening (after very heavy rain) to hear the fuel pump running which comes on with the ignition, so I have to keep an eye on the fuse box.

I've also tightened up the brake linkage and adjusted the height of the brake pedal as I was struggling to heal and toe properly. I still need to test it out by getting the brakes hot as the parts may expand with the heat too much and bind on.

Last bit was retarding the ign timing slightly. The engine/exhaust is so loud it's tricky to hear the pinking, even though the strobe was telling me it was pretty close.

Just need to get out on a decent run now. I was hoping to catch up with a cruise/meet aver the weekend, but the weather forecast put me off to much :( Hopefully soon...

I think we're around that weekend, so we might do. IIRC, we're away on holiday the week after...

Test drive last night. I can report that the brakes are now "impressive"

Strange exhaust leak noise though. I think it's coming from a slip type joint where two branches meet, but it was far too hot to touch at the time. I'll wait and see if it carbons up, as you don't really want those clamps too tight.

Checked the fuel pressure - 1psi... I guess Aldon Automotive didn't check this rather fundamental variable when they tuned the carbs. Hmm. Would certainly consider taking the car somewhere else next time...

Also, can't find an exhaust leak. Maybe hearing things!
