In an idle moment I found a Bimmer E36 been broken for spares just down the road, so for £5 I have secured the filler neck. So with nothing to loose I am going to have a go at modifying it in a few weeks time (new shocks and MOT first). I will take a photo record and post if successful, if not Scrumpyones' suggestion will be enacted.

I have two and will try and remember to bring them on Sunday.
One is mild steel and the other is Stainless.
Bring a magnet as I can't remember which is which.

Or you can photograph my set up as I believe it is not original but I have had no problems with it.
