Fuel filler pipe

Im sure this has been asked a million time but im blowed if I can find a decent answer. Where can I get hold of a new fuel filler pipe? If not which ones fit without too much hassle?

You can't. You can mod one from another vehicle (3 series bimmer), or find one off a scrapper, or get one made (££).

Try VW Classic parts.

Ive heard a mk1 golf filler fits with some cutting and jiggling?

It will fit an early mk 2 with the large spare wheel well, but the top is different where it meets the cap as the golf cap is external and a different type. It can do in a pinch though. If the top of your neck is good, you could probably do some cutting and welding to get a mk1 golf neck on.

Hmmmm my welding is non existant mate. So a bimmer one will fit.? What year and model?

Further searching would suggest a 3 Series E36 filler neck. Requires use of a heat gun and fill with sand before you start to prevent kinking. I may well investigate getting one welded up out of stainless.

VW Classic Parts

Part number 533 201 129D (about £100 posted from Germany) you'll need the extra length rubber connector to reach the tank.

Mine arrived within 3 days of ordering.
