Rocco virgin, but not for much longer

Post by Baldchuckle »

Hi all,

After years and years of talking about it and threatening I've finally popped my Rocco cherry, nearly.

Got myself an 89 Scala. It's currently on the south coast being eased thru its first Mot for a few years.
Already sorted fuel line issues and now just a list of bits and bobs to get its ticket.

The problem I've got is the car is on the south coast and I'm in the Midlands. I've not seen the car in the flesh. Thanks to a very persuasive younger brother and a good mate who runs a garage all I've had to go on is some pictures and 10 seconds of video. What could go wrong!

I'm acting like an expectant father. I'm finding myself pacing around daydreaming of this car. I jump every time the phone goes worried if it's another problem or a bit of good news!
Is this normal??
There will be pictures posted but only after I've had a play in it.
Thanks

 That all sounds good to me ;)

I've partaken in some dubious purchases thanks to eBay. The best one was probably from Livingston, near Edinburgh, to Exeter to collect a "bargain" scirocco. The engine expired on my way home going passed Liverpool area. Thanks to dad driving up with me in a transit the rest of the journey was scary as I was being towed behind...

I don't think much compares to the anticipation of collecting a new toy :)

Haha that's some trip for a bargain. Hopefully my trip back will be totally uneventful and enjoyable

A few days away in France with the family first.
I've told him not to bother me whilst I'm away, don't want the bad news whilst I'm trying to relax.
With a bit of luck I'll do an overnight down there and have a ' leisurely' drive back sometime next week
