Newbe

Post by Fatlemon »

Hi, Collected a MK2 GT2 auto over the weekend having seperated from my last one over 15 years ago.

It needs needs some care and attention mainly brakes and idle speed (2000 rpm in neutral). Any way it was an intresting drive home.

When its light outside I'll get a pic added but I am impressed with the condition of the boby work.

Happy days ahead.

Well, how have the 15 years affected your impression of the Mk2? It can feel dated if you've been used to a modern box!

Seems lower, noisier, slower with poor lights and small wiper blades and I am sure the seats have shrunk. However it was a pleasant experience all told. And yes my normal drives are a both modern, one being a people carrier and the other a small citroen C1.

Thank you for the welcome.

To answer ianaudia4 I am based near the Suffolk Coast about 1/2 hour north of Ipswich.

On the off chance, my last Scirocco was a silver 1.8 Scala E101RVF any one know of her location?

I think that there is a web site that you can look up and find out if it is still on the go.
Someone on here will point you in the right direction.
