Volksfling 2014

Post by ianaudia4 » Tue Jan 14, 2014 10:21 pm

Great show in the Borders, the last few years the SR have had a massive turnout of Sciroccos, last year we had 14, which is some achievement.
In fact we had probably the biggest line up of any model VW there!

It would be good if we could get even more cars attending this year. Well worth the trip, stunning surroundings, good people and some good trade stands and not forgetting some great cars.

Day tickets are £7.00 per day.
Follow Ian's link and then click on Information.
Should make it for the biggest Scirocco turnout of the year. :|
Can't vouch for anyone else as it has died a death up here.

Organised an event and got ten cars up to Knockhill for a Sunday jaunt.
Left it in the hands of the young guns and nothing.
Won't be doing any more organising, from now on it is a one man convoy unless anyone specifically asks me to meet them.
Disillusioned with the scirocco scene, it is not the same one I joined a few years back.
Lost too many good members lately and no one asks why.
Only really post on here now just to keep in touch and up to date with what's going on out there.

OK rant over.

Hopefully see you in May.

Well I'm still around Sandy! I usually drum up a few cars from south of the border, just tell people where we will be and what time, if they make it cool, if not their loss :)
I try and organise the hotel for the SR national meet, will do this year also as we got a good deal the last few years, hopefully you will come Sandy.

Well I'm still around Sandy!
That's why I come on here.

Cheers Ian I appreciate your effort to attend as many meets as possible and your visits to Biggar are more than welcome.
I dare say that I will be there on the Sunday all being well.
I'll decline your offer re the National for personal reasons, thanks anyway.
See you in May if not before then.

Well even after 30 years of VW and Audi ownership I still have the bug (no pun intended I hate the things!).
I know some people can become cliquey but us Scirocco enthusiasts must stick together as we are already the black sheep of the VW fraternity, which to be honest suits me fine!
I like tipping up at a show and being different and not following the usual mega lowered, wide wheels, stretched tyres type!

Looking forward to catching up with people at the shows, and yes the toolbag is in the boot!

Slightly off topic, but I was surprised this last week to find out that even Corrado owners aren't exactly Scirocco fans. In fact some appear to be slightly snobby. I thought it odd as the Corrado was originally intended to be the Mk3 Scirocco. Of course, that opinion isn't shared by all, as like me, they have owned both over the years.
